Sara has over 20 years of expertise working in these fields. Prior to joining Farrell, Martin & Barnell, LLP in 2014 Sara worked as an attorney at a mid-sized law firm in Syracuse where she specialized in Elder Law, Estate Planning and Estate Administration, and then was a founding partner of a boutique law firm in Skaneateles which exclusively practiced in Elder Law, Estate Planning and Estate Administration.
She is admitted to practice before all New York State Courts and is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
Sara graduated from St. Bonaventure University in 1999 (B.A. History, magna cum laude), and Syracuse University College of Law in 2002 (J.D. cum laude).
Sara resides in Baldwinsville with her husband and their three children. In her free time Sara enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling.

Derek is a lifelong resident of Baldwinsville, graduating from Baker High School, Syracuse University, and SU College of Law where he served as president of the Federalist Society and was a recipient of the undergraduate and law school Chancellor’s Scholarship.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Derek worked for ten years as an assisted living administrator, where he gained valuable management experience. He served one term on the Van Buren Town Board and served three terms representing the towns of Camillus, Elbridge, and Van Buren as an Onondaga County Legislator.
Derek’s practice is dedicated to residential and small commercial real estate transactions on behalf of buyers, sellers and lenders.

Brittney Keehfus
Patrick is a native of the Village of Baldwinsville and has longstanding ties to the firm. His father, Norman, was a founding member, and his brother, Paul, continued the firm’s legacy until his retirement in 2015. He currently serves of counsel to the firm, where he focuses on residential and commercial real estate matters, including title examinations.
Prior to joining Farrell, Martin & Barnell, LLP in 2022, Patrick was a partner at Hall & Martin in North Syracuse for 35 years, where he represented lenders, businesses, and individual clients in more than 10,000 transactions.
He has been actively engaged in community service, including serving as a former member of the Board of Directors for Syracuse Habitat for Humanity and Seneca River North Little League.
Patrick earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame in 1982 and his Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law in 1986.

Brittney has been with the firm since 2019, working in both our Estates/Elder Law and Real Estate practices. Brittney’s dual role makes her ideally suited to handle Real Estate transactions involving trusts, estates, powers of attorney and more.
Brittney lives local to the area with her husband and high-school sweetheart, Zak, and a busy house of five children!

Lisa has worked in the firm’s Real Estate practice since 2021, and she is the firm’s primary paralegal for purchase and bank files. As a Registered Nurse, she was recruited for her extensive experience in medical case management, which translates exceptionally well to her role at Farrell, Martin & Barnell. Our clients and staff from other offices often comment to our closing attorneys how impressed they are by her organization and communication throughout the process.
Lisa is a lifelong resident of Baldwinsville with deep roots with both friends and family in the village.

Liz has worked in the firm’s Real Estate Department since 2019, and she brings a deep well of valuable knowledge to her role. With nearly three decades of experience with some of the biggest firms in Central New York, she has worked on real estate transactions from virtually all angles, giving her a knack for recognizing issues early and solving problem efficiently so that our sale transactions move as smoothly as possible to the closing table.
Liz is original from Geneva, New York, and has lived in Baldwinsville for many years where she raised her two grown boys with her husband, Mark.
